This week it’s a very special adorable adoptable from the Animal Rescue League of Iowa – Courage. She is beautiful, special, energetic, and eager to have a furever home that wants to have some fun.
From the ARL:
BIG FAN OF: Toys! You toss them, and she’ll chase or catch them! She may want to prance around with them rather than give them back to you, but she has gotten very good at trading them for treats. Make it a game! She loves games!
SPECIAL FEATURES: Courage has plenty of energy and will keep you on your toes. She absolutely LOVES chasing toys and will be off like a shot after whatever you throw. She can also catch toys in her mouth! Courage already knows a bunch of stuff — sit, down, stay, come and shake! Classes would be a great way to bond while she learns even more. She pulls pretty hard on a leash right now, so investing in a front-clip harness would be a great idea. With a little work, she may be a fantastic jogging buddy.
OTHER REASONS SHE’S SPECIAL: The left side of Courage’s head has a droopy lip and ear, indicating possible nerve damage. Her previous owner indicated that she’d had a stroke at some point in the past. If you have questions about this when meeting with Courage, please ask to speak to a member of our medical staff.
DREAM HOME: With an active family who will keep her busy. She must meet any resident dogs before going home with you to make sure everyone is a great match.
Please Adopt, Don’t Shop.
Thank you, Kate
