Our Pets are Family, And Friends are Awesome

Do you have a pet with special needs?

This week Mischa – pictured here in the pet carrier waiting to see the vet – was diagnosed with diabetes.  We started treating him yesterday, but it has been a week of sticker shock.  No matter, I will find a way to take care of him because he’s my kid and I love him.
I have, however, gone public with friends over my need to find ways to make a little cash here and there to help defray the cost.  My friends and family have sent incredible messages of support, tips – because they also have had pets with diabetes, and they are helping me network to find those little projects I can squeeze into my life.
Someone this morning went even further – they left this note and $20 on my desk.  It made me cry.  It was unexpected, and the kind of heartwarming moment that makes you nearly shatter into a million pieces with happiness to be reminded just how kind the World can be.
So, I just wanted to give a shout-out to my awesome people.  And send out good vibes to all of the other pet parents who are finding a way to make it work whether it’s just food and a warm place to sleep, or huge medical expenses – you are amazing!
