For Furry Friday with the Animal Rescue League of Iowa this week it was super hard to choose a dog to feature. (Next week there is a surprise coming with cats, you could win something, so it had to be a dog this week.)
There were so many great faces, like the pit bulls who always look so happy, or the chihuahua who look so eager. But I chose Donald because he looks so, well Donald. I just want to throw him tennis balls and take him for a walk, don’t you?
Now, here’s more about Donald from the Animal Rescue League of Iowa:
BIG FAN OF: Treats and toys.
NOT A FAN OF: Waiting for things — he can be impatient. He’s also not wild about having his feet handled.
SPECIAL FEATURES: Donald is very handsome and very much a youngster — bold, bouncy and a little bit goofy. He loves chasing after toys and running around with them in his mouth, and he definitely will need some exercise every day. He’d love a daily run or a nice long walk.
OTHER REASONS HE’S SPECIAL: Donald knows sit, but classes would be great for learning more basic skills, working on his manners and developing a strong bond with his new family. He pulls pretty hard on a leash right now — everything is just so exciting! — but a Gentle Leader will help make walking a better experience for everyone.
DREAM HOME: With an active family who will give him plenty of exercise and take him to classes. He may be better suited for a house than an apartment.
