Furry Friday – Chief

As soon as I spotted Chief on the Animal Rescue League of Iowa website, I knew he had to be my adorable adoptable this week.  He’s a 2-year-old yellow Lab with a happy disposition.  And, yes, he has three legs – but this is why I love him!

chief3Quick story:  When I was 6-years old, the neighbor boy was baling hay and ran over my black Lab Susie.  He cut her leg off.  His dad wanted to shoot her on the spot.  Not my dad.  My father insisted that she be rushed to the vet, who saved her life.

Susie was the best dog!  She was fun, protective and fast – any time we left our rural home she would try to race the car and could get up to 15 mph!  She lived a long, happy, loved life and never really acknowledged that she was missing a leg.  SONY DSC

So, that’s my case for Chief.  I am pretty sure he’s just like Susie – he wants to love and be loved.  He’s even wearing a walking vest, so you know he’s ready to go on your evening stroll. 🙂

Please Adopt, Don’t Shop. -Kate
