Race for the Cure


Join us on Saturday, October 4 at the State of Iowa Capitol Grounds for the 2014 Race for the Cure.    

Be sure to get signed up by September 19 to have your packet mailed to you before the Race.  For more information, and to register, go online now to www.komeniowa.org.

New this year—there will be post-race entertainment on the main stage following the race. Stick around afterwards for free food, live music, and plenty of prize giveaways!

Exciting Activities at Race this Year

Team Tailgating  Looking for a space all to your own on Race Day??  Our top 5 fundraising teams will receive their own “tailgating” tent.  We will provide each team with tables, chairs, water, a special breakfast, and team name signage.  So be sure to start your fundraising early to take advantage of this program!

Best Dressed Team – Make sure to get on all of your best gear and enter our Best Dressed Team Competition!  Des Moines Radio Group will be hosting.  Teams interested in being a part of this competition can enter by having their photo taken on Race morning!

Pink My Potty – Use your creative decoration skills, while participating in this fun and unique team activity!  Click on the link for more information on how your personal or company team can decorate one of our portable restrooms.

Race Route Music – Need some motivation while running this year’s 5K, or just looking for some entertainment during the Walk and Talk??  Our Race Route Music is back again this year and ready to give everyone that needed boost!

Parking available lots downtown or nearby streets. Free shuttles will be available, buses start at 7am and will run until 8:30am – dropped at E 7th & Locust. Shuttles will take people back starting at 9:45am.
