Join the Des Moines Skydivers for our open house at our brand new hangar in Knoxville, Iowa.
Although our club has been around since 1974, we moved to Knoxville, IA, in spring 2023. We just completed our new skydiving facility that we (yes, the members!) have been working to build all winter! It’s now the newest skydiving facility in the country! We opened for operations last weekend (May 12-14), and it was a huge success. People traveled from all over the country to jump with us. Between licensed and tandem jumpers–we made a total of 636 skydives!
The city of Knoxville has welcomed us with open arms. We’re so excited to get to know all the members of the community and form long-term bonds. To further encourage our partnership, we’re hosting an FREE Open House event for the public on June 24th from 11 am to 3 pm. There will be family-friendly fun for everyone! We will have bounce houses, face painting, a photo booth, and more! Spectators can bring a lawn chair and spend the day watching the parachutes land. We will have food from local food trucks and treats from Kay’s Kupcakes. Peace Tree Brewing Company has also volunteered to hand out free beer samples and swag. In addition, we will be giving out door prizes—where guests could even win a FREE skydive! We will be posting more details about the event here:
