As of this writing, fires in the Greater Los Angeles area have consumed nearly 40,000 acres of land and destroyed or seriously damaged more than 15,000 homes and other structures. More destruction is expected as more than 7,500 emergency workers and firefighters from California, across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and other countries, continue to try to control and ultimately extinguish the runaway blazes.

While the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is on the ground, California has called up their National Guard, and other resources are pouring in, both fire destruction and evacuations have left hundreds of thousands of people in need. While numerous individual families have set up GoFundMe and other fundraising accounts (be sure you know who you are giving to), many others simply need meals, shelter, a place for their pets to stay, healthcare, and more.

To that end, the agencies below are the official groups recognized in the assistance efforts. If you are interested in helping the California Fire Victims, these are safe ways to give.
